The National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS) Intramural Research Program (IRP) in the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is recruiting a tenure-track/tenure-eligible Investigator on the NIH main campus in Bethesda, Maryland.

NIAMS IRP seeks to identify a tenure-track/tenure-eligible Investigator to develop a vigorous, independent basic science research program within the NIAMS IRP. Applicants must have a Ph.D., M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a relevant field with extensive postdoctoral experience, as well as a strong publication record demonstrating outstanding potential for independent creative research. The ideal candidate should have expertise in basic, translational, computational and artificial intelligence, and/or population research with relevance to key NIAMS mission areas of arthritis, musculoskeletal, and skin biology and diseases. The hired investigator will be expected to develop an exciting independent research program. The successful candidate will benefit from the highly collaborative environment of the NIH IRP. 

The successful candidate will have access to state-of-the-art core research facilities and will be assigned generous independent resources to include laboratory support personnel, equipment, space, and an allocated annual budget for services, supplies, and salaries sufficient to foster success. 

Salary will be commensurate with research experience and accomplishments. A full Civil Service package of benefits (including retirement, health insurance, paid leave, career support, work-life and commuter benefits, and optional life and long-term care insurance) is available. Relocation Expenses will be offered based on eligibility.
