West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medicine, Section of Rheumatology seeks an Academic Rheumatologist qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. Successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV.
Duties: The successful candidate will practice the full range of outpatient and inpatient Rheumatology. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will teach medical students, residents, and fellows in our ACGME accredited fellowship program, and participate in quality improvement and/or research as eligible. The Division of Rheumatology is committed to career and personal development for all faculty and there is potential for grant support within the Division to sponsor career interests.
In keeping with Divisional goals to improve rheumatology access for our rural population, interested/eligible candidates may have the opportunity to serve areas outside of Morgantown in West Virginia or Pennsylvania. This may be a combination of in-person or telemedicine as best meets the needs of our rural population and the candidate’s requirements.
Qualifications: Applicants must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible to obtain a state medical license. Candidates must have completed an accredited internal medicine residency program as well as a rheumatology fellowship and be board eligible/board certified in rheumatology. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
