Position: Attending Physician, Endocrinology/Metabolic Bone
Location: HSS Main Campus (New York, NY)
Available Start Date: Immediate
Responsibilities:
At the direction of the Chief of Endocrinology and Metabolic Bone, the candidate will provide the usual and customary duties and responsibilities of a member of the HSS Division of Endocrinology/Metabolic Bone as a full-time employed physician with a faculty appointment, including obtaining and maintaining medical staff privileges at HSS.
The candidate will establish a practice centered around Metabolic Bone disease and Preventive Health, with the goal of identifying and addressing risk factors for poor surgical outcomes related to bone health, particularly in patients undergoing Joint Replacement, Spine, or Trauma related procedures. Visits may be in-person with some virtual visits at the discretion of the provider. The candidate will benefit from internal referrals and public access channels to grow their practice.
Additionally, it is expected that the candidate will:
- Provide consultations for patients in the Endocrinology/Metabolic Bone clinical practice
- Serve on departmental and/or institutional committees at the direction of the Service Chief
- Participate in teaching and academic duties within the Division, including monthly academic conferences for the Endocrinology/Metabolic Bone Service, and precepting the Metabolic Bone and Endocrinology Fellows to provide oversight, support, teaching, and mentorship
- Support the Endocrinology/Metabolic Bone Service leadership in clinical program development and other service offerings to patients, the community, and in support of HSS’ tri-state growth strategy
- Share on-call duties, inpatient consult service, and other responsibilities as directed by the Chief of the Division
- Contribute to local, regional, national, and international meetings and societies in support of the Department’s and HSS’ international recognition
Minimum Qualifications:
- MD or DO required
- Current Board Certification in Endocrinology
- Active medical license in NY
Preferred:
- Active tristate (CT, NJ, PA) and Florida licenses
