A Postdoctoral Associate position is available in the Division of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology in the Department of Medicine, starting as early as February 1, 2026. The Postdoctoral Associate will be a member of a dynamic, multidisciplinary, and cooperative team of researchers. The goal of this project is to identify the inflammatory mechanisms in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction and associated cardiac fibrosis. Candidates must have a Ph.D, and should possess a background in molecular biology, cell biology, and immunology. Prior experience with flow cytometry, informatics, and mouse models of disease would be beneficial.
Postdoctoral Associate will perform the following duties:
- Investigate the mechanisms of immune regulation of diastolic dysfunction in HFpEF
- Investigate the role of macrophage SUCNR1 in cardiovascular disease
- Perform experiments, analyze data, and present compiled data at lab meetings
Candidate will be responsible for conducting and publishing cutting-edge research, learn new experimental techniques, collaborate with other laboratories. Candidate will be expected to work independently, stay up-to-date in the field, critically assess their results and modify/develop research plan accordingly, and present their work at research conferences.
