The Executive & Academic Search team of Doximity Talent Solutions has partnered with the Tulane University School of Medicine on the national search for an exceptional academic rheumatologist to serve as the Chief, Division of Allergy, Clinical Immunology, and Rheumatology. The Division Chief provides strategic, clinical, academic, and operational leadership for a well-established and well-regarded multidisciplinary division within the Department of Medicine. Reporting to the Department Chair, Victor Thannickal, MD, the Chief is responsible for advancing growth and excellence of clinical programs, fostering innovation in research initiatives and medical education, promoting scholarly activity, and ensuring operational effectiveness across multiple clinical sites.

- Bridge the gap between bench and bedside, ensuring that Tulane remains at the forefront of treating complex autoimmune and immunologic diseases.
Clinical Mission:
- Oversee the broad spectrum of allergy and immunology, you will personally anchor the Rheumatology service line, maintaining an active practice that sets the standard for patient-centered care.
- Develop multidisciplinary "centers of excellence" and streamlining biologics and infusion services to provide seamless care
- Enhance patient access and throughput by standardizing protocols and care pathways across all ambulatory and hospital sites
- Collaborate across subspecialties to build a cohesive, integrated network of care for patients with multi-systemic diseases.
Academic Mission:
- You will serve as a mentor, educator, and investigator.
- You will be responsible for building a legacy of scholarship by recruiting top-tier talent and providing mentorship for faculty to achieve promotion, secure extramural funding, and assume national leadership roles.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- M.D. or D.O., or M.D./Ph.D. degree with the ability to obtain Louisiana license
- Evidence of scholarly productivity appropriate for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor
- Board Certification in Rheumatology
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Demonstrated record of progressive leadership and administrative experience in an academic medical center
- Track record of clinical excellence and
- Demonstrated success in faculty recruitment, development, and retentioncommitment to patient-centered care
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams within complex university and health care system environments
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Established track record of funded research or program development
- Familiarity with value-based care and population health strategies
